Charlo Bianco – Head, Finance


Charlo Bianco is Head of Finance, responsible for all the financial affairs of the Authority which in the main involve its corporate financial strategy, financial planning, control and assurance.

Charlo joined the MFSA in July 2020. Throughout his career he has held managerial roles in both the private and public sector. He gained extensive experience in companies across various industries, ranging from manufacturing of security printed products, including banknotes, to Telecommunications and the Gaming Industry’s Regulator.

Prior to taking up is appointment at the MFSA, Charlo spent five years as Head of Finance, at the Malta Gaming Authority, where he was instrumental in the transformation of the Finance Directorate, and was also involved in the overhaul of the gaming tax and fee regime, mainly in the transition from the old tax regime to the new tax regime in 2018.

Charlo holds an International Master’s degree in Accountancy and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and an Associate Member of the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA).
