Malta Financial Services Authority and Malta Stock Exchange to Jointly Host the 2027 Governance, Risk, Compliance and ESG Conference
SEPTEMBER 16, 2026

The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Malta Stock Exchange (MSE) are pleased to announce their collaboration in organising the 2027 Governance, Risk, Compliance and ESG Conference, which will take place between 3 and 5 March 2027 at the Hilton Malta.

Originally established by the Malta Stock Exchange, the Conference has grown into one of Malta's leading forums for discussion on governance, risk management, compliance, regulation and sustainable business practices. Following the successful collaboration between the MFSA and the MSE in 2026, the two institutions will once again join forces to deliver an enhanced programme that brings together regulators, policymakers, financial services professionals, board members, governance practitioners and industry experts from Malta and abroad.

The 2027 edition will provide a platform for thought-provoking discussions on the key challenges and opportunities shaping today's financial and corporate landscape. Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, fireside chats and specialist breakout sessions, participants will gain practical insights into the latest developments in governance, risk management, compliance, market integrity, financial crime prevention, cybersecurity, operational resilience, artificial intelligence, sustainable finance, digital assets, supervision and investor protection.

The Conference programme will cover a diverse range of timely topics, including anti-money laundering and financial crime, director accountability, internal audit, ethical leadership, capital market integrity, supervisory convergence within the European Union, tokenised financial markets, family office structures, financial capability, risk governance and the evolving role of boards in an increasingly complex business environment.

Commenting on the Conference, Joseph Portelli, Executive Chairman of the Malta Stock Exchange, said:

“The Conference continues to serve as an important meeting point for professionals seeking practical insights into the developments transforming financial services and the corporate world. We look forward to welcoming leading experts to Malta for what promises to be one of the region's most engaging discussions on governance, risk and compliance.”

Jesmond Gatt, Chairman of the Malta Financial Services Authority, said:

“Strong governance, effective risk management, and a culture of compliance are fundamental to maintaining confidence across all economic sectors. This Conference creates a valuable opportunity for meaningful dialogue between regulators and industry participants, helping us collectively address emerging challenges and identify opportunities that support long-term resilience and sustainable growth.”

The Conference reflects the shared commitment of the MFSA and the Malta Stock Exchange to promoting high standards of governance, transparency and market integrity. By facilitating dialogue among regulators, firms, investors and other stakeholders, the event aims to contribute to a more resilient, innovative and economic framework.
