About Data Management and BI


The Data Management and Business Intelligence (BI) function ensures timely and effective decision-making across the Authority through more effective data and records management, and business intelligence reporting, to support risk-based supervision. The team is responsible for driving data governance, data quality management and integrity, as well as data architecture. The function also manages a centralised data warehouse and BI analytics platform to provide ongoing insights, analyses and operational dashboards for end users.

The Role


The Senior Data Governance Specialist interfaces with the relevant technical, programme management & quality (PMQ) stakeholders and business users, with the purpose to track, maintain and schedule solutions for data governance programme initiatives. This will be achieved by:-

  • Driving and implementing the Authority's data governance charter, tracking and measuring progress against objectives set out.
  • Developing a data quality framework, leading data quality metrics definition and ownership, proactively identifying/driving data quality improvement initiatives and regularly interacting with business and technical stakeholders to further identify, log and track the delivery of solutions for data improvement needs and quality issues.
  • Being the main lead for coordinating/driving activities within the various data governance forums internally and amongst the various relevant local and European authorities.
  • Leading the definition of data governance policies and procedures in collaboration with peers.
  • Staying abreast and providing inputs to any data related European regulations on financial supervision and any data strategies which may have an impact on the Authority's data architecture.
  • Launching data governance programme initiatives, delivering high quality training and communications in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Regularly organising knowledge sharing and training sessions to address targeted data quality issues as may be necessary.
  • Monitoring correct usage and adherence across the Authority of data management policies and system functionality.
  • In liaison with other data management colleagues test solutions to ensure data quality principles are maintained as may be required.
  • Working on tasks delegated from time-to-time as may be required.

About You


We are looking for a confident and articulate communicator that is capable of driving strong collaboration across multi-disciplinary functions. A structured and data-driven analytical approach together with an attention for detail is also very important.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar at MQF Level 6
  • Proficient in data governance activities such as data policy and procedures definition
  • Experienced in data management techniques/standards for delivering high quality data
  • Experience in Enterprise Web Applications as well as Database operations and SQL
  • Experience in financial supervision or financial sector regulation is a plus.

The applicant should also possess a minimum of five (5) years working experience in similar environment. Candidates with longer working relevant experience will be preferred.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience within a relevant field, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
