Franco Aloisio – Head, Communications


Franco Aloisio is Head of Communications, responsible for the Authority’s relations with internal and external stakeholders, its outreach initiatives across different platforms, as well as the management of MFSA’s media relations.

With 25 years’ experience in communications, PR strategy and execution, marketing, digital marketing, employee communication, branding and media, Franco has previously worked with a variety of large-scale companies – some of which listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, such as GO plc and HSBC Bank Malta plc – across different businesses including telecoms, financial services and banking.

Prior to joining MFSA, he was the lead for Strategic Communications and PR for one of Malta’s leading marketing and communications agencies – servicing organisations in several sectors such as aviation, financial services, healthcare, banking, real estate, automotive, NGOs as well as European institutions such as the European Parliament and the European Commission.

Throughout his career he has adopted a strategic outlook to communications coupled with a tactical approach in order to analyse issues and understand how they impact various stakeholders.

Franco’s key expertise areas are in media/ journalism, marketing and corporate communications, digital marketing, PR and media handling, reputation management, crisis/ issues management, investor communications, employer branding, employee communications, events organisation, CSR, ESG, sponsorship planning and activation, content creation – including long-format writing, multimedia and social media, branding and market research, as well as client management.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Sociology from the University of Malta, and a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute in Ireland.
