About Data Management and BI


The Data Management and Business Intelligence supports timely and effective decision making across the authority by empowering management and the team with the right data-related processes, KPIs, dashboards, analytics and risk profiling.

The Role


The Data Solutions Specialist works with the relevant technical, programme management and business users, with the purpose to create, implement and maintain automated workflows within the relevant data collection and supervisory and records management systems. This will be achieved by:‐

  • Maintaining, enhancing and creating workflows, functions and configurations within the relevant system environments.

  • Working closely with staff and end‐users to maintain, optimize, create, test and manage complex workflow rules, data validation, and triggers.

  • Creating and documenting application requirements and data maps for new functionality in collaboration with the software development & PMQ teams.

  • Analyse and document Data Quality issues with Legacy Systems and produce practical proposals for fixing the issues and preventing them from re-occuring.

  • List and document data sources and siloes that exist within different units with a view of centralising and consolidating the Authority's information.

  • Staying up‐to‐date on new system features, key user pain points and functionality, as well as providing recommendations for process improvements.

  • Delivering data collection and supervisory system projects on schedule and with high quality.

  • Defining and maintaining data related policies and procedures.

  • Performing daily administrative tasks and addressing any production support issues as may be required.

  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the Data Management and Business Intelligence management from time to time.

About You


We are looking for candidates with solid academic background in Computer Science or in another comparable area.

The role calls for an academic qualification in Computer Science at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience in implementing systems with highly complex processes, involving cross‐functional teams

  • Good knowledge of Excel, SQL and C#

  • Experience in implementing Enterprise CRM or ERP platforms or Enterprise Content Management Systems such as Microsoft SharePoint is considered a plus.

You will also possess a minimum of three (3) years working experience in a related area. Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience in a related area, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
