Christine Apap – Head, Communications

Christine Apap was appointed Head of Communications in June 2019.  In a career spanning over 30 years, Christine garnered extensive experience in workplace settings, ranging from banking to education, aviation to rural affairs, telecommunications to the environment, in the private and public sector, as well as the public service.

Christine worked at Bank of Valletta plc for 12 years, both at Head Office as well as at Branch level, and later at BNF in their Image & Communications Unit.  Before joining the MFSA, she was the Senior Manager – Human Resources and Corporate Communications, at a back-office services company and had also held the role of Chief of Corporate Services at the Malta Communications Authority, responsible for the Human Resources, Public & Media Relations and Administration functions.

After having obtained a Diploma in Journalism from the University of Malta, Christine continued her studies there and read for a Bachelor of Arts degree, with English as one of her main areas of study, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Christine also holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Training awarded by the University of Leicester and is an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
